Armoza Formats And NTV In Dramatic New Partnership
Armoza Formats and one of Russia’s leading channels, NTV, have announced today that they are entering a strategic collaboration that will begin with the independent Israeli developer and distributor taking two of the channel’s new crime dramas for their scripted catalogue.
The two thrillers, Death Highway and Sleepers, will be launched by Armoza this week at NATPE. Death Highway started airing in April this year, increasing the slot’s average for the channel with a strong first season, while Sleepers is set to air from this autumn.
Inspired by true events, crime thriller Death Highway (10 x 60') takes us on a ride down the Moscow highway M-4, where the notorious GTA gang begins killing people with no apparent motive. Investigating these cases are two detectives, who must overcome their own personal conflicts and work together to solve these seemingly random crimes that are tormenting their city. And with more killings reported each day, bodies of the gang members piling up and the media getting involved, the panic that ensues creates added pressure for the detectives. With a potential mole that is keeping the gang one step ahead of the investigation, what used to be a calm and peaceful route has just become the Death Highway.
Sleepers (8 x 60’) is the intense thriller based on the unusual paintings of real-life famous artists and the legends that surround them. Set in the high-stakes world of international art dealing, a rich businessman heads on a perilous journey to collect coveted and rare paintings of sleeping women in the hopes of revealing the truth behind their mysterious origins. But as his hobby turns into a dangerous obsession, he puts into motion a sequence of shocking events and gets tangled in a web of murder, intrigue and deceit in which everyone has their own motives for being involved. When these events come under investigation, will the maddening secret behind them finally be revealed?
Timur Weinstein, General Producer of NTV Broadcasting Company, “We are proud of the fact that such a prestigious company as Armoza sees the value and commercial potential of these two dramas from NTV’s new line of content – both with ‘Death Highway’ that had such a strong first season in Russia and with ‘Sleepers’ that we are excited to launch simultaneously both in Russia and worldwide. We sincerely hope that this marks the beginning of a new international distribution partnership of our ready-made series and formats.”
Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, “We are thrilled to be expanding our catalogue of scripted shows through partnering with NTV to bring these two intriguing dramas to the market. We look forward to launching these captivating stories that will draw in audiences with each episode, and to a strong and ongoing relationship with NTV.”
